“Pistol By My Side”
Words and Music by Dylan Kader
Well, I made my way into the town just the other day.
I was looking for a friend of mine, but it seems he’s gone away.
So I saddled up upon my horse; through the desert I did ride!
For days and nights I did alright with but a pistol by my side
Before I rode right through the pass those mountains ran me dry.
The sun beat down from high above with no shade for us to find
I fell off of my horse as I was burnt and weary eyed.
We both laid down upon the ground with my pistol by my side..
With my pistol by my side for long and lonely nights,
I find my comfort in the wind underneath those desert skies.
Underneath those desert skies!
I woke with stars above me; below the ground was cold.
I walked the path I found until the night was growing old.
When day broke far behind me, the sun became by guide.
Though now alone, I felt at home with my pistol by my side.
With my pistol by my side for long and lonely nights,
I find my comfort in the wind underneath those desert skies.
Underneath those desert skies!
With my pistol by my side!
“Jimszamar”
Words by Dylan Kader Music by Jim Kader & Jon Truelson
The streets are full of people when there are sunny blue skies.
As I stand alone now, I must ask the reason why.
The rain has started falling; I can’t look away.
The winter winds are calling; you know they’ll have their say..
The water level’s rising; its heading straight into town.
If we can’t ease this storm it’s gonna bring the levee down!
The ledge begins to crumble as the ocean it calls.
The rip tides pull you and you know you’re bound to fall.
But roots run deep; your passion is strong.
The ground below you keeps, though you know it won’t be long..
Flash flood warning; time to make for the hills!
Gather what’s important for the tides gonna do what it will..
It’s time to head back now, but what will we find?
The muddy waters came through and they likely weren’t too kind.
Home on the horizon: we’ll get there today.
With our livelihoods behind us, what price will we have to pay?
The hurricane is over; she’s had more than her fill.
The town is barely standing, but you know it’s standing still!
“I’d Be Pleased”
Words and Music by Jon Truelson
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
I don’t know too much about you but I’ve got time
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
Every day I think about you wherever I go
Are you free? Could you see me? I really don’t know
I’d be pleased just to love you. I guess it don’t show!
(Bridge 1:)
Well I try to do things right but I don’t know just what that is
If I could say what’s on my mind I’d never tell you quite like this
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
(Bridge 2:)
Well I know you won’t believe I’ve never felt like this before
If you stay with me tonight I’m sure I’ll try to tell you more
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
I don’t know too much about you but I’ve got time
I’d be pleased just to love you if you don’t mind
If you don’t mind
If you don’t mind..
“Without The Bad”
Words and Music by Harry Cooper
I woke up today
With the smoke detectors chirpin
My rents 10 days late and ive hardly started working.
My dog is old and my car just broke.
All my freinds think life is one big joke.
Youve got to
Get up it seems In hard times like these
Cuz
Without the bad the good will never be seen.
Never be seem.
Without the bad. The good Will never be seen
It was a rainy tuesday morning my birthday no less
Didnt feel like getting up didint wanna get dressed
but i told myself this world wont pass me by
I’m 26 years old im hardly gunna die.
So i put on my shirt and I went to work
and I told myself i said this aint Gunna hurt.
I said to myself this world wont past me by
I’m not nearly sick and old im hardly gunna die i said.
Without the bad. The good will never be seen. × 4
There’s more to life then meets the eye
ya gotta let go ya gotta let faith decide.
Follow your heart and you cant go wrong
if you know the words to life we can all sing along and it goes.
Get up it seems in hard times like these.
Cuz without the bad the good Will never be seen.
Never be seen.
Without the bad. The good Will never be seen
“Fernwood”
Words and Music by Dylan Kader
Quarter past eleven and the sun was beating down.
The waves were crashing on the beach as we passed right through the town.
40 miles, just down the road, until we find the place called home.
And when that sun beats down again, it’s time for us to roam!
We found ourselves the campground and cabin 31.
Then built ourselves a fire and it burned ‘til it was done.
Those chilly winds came blowin’ in and we felt it to the bone.
That morning mist is the breath of life in this place where we have grown!
Back out on the road, my friend; southbound on the coast.
Traveling with my mandolin and the one I love the most.
And if those redwood trees come tumbling down on me,
I’ll pick myself up by my straps and get back on that road!
We made our way into the woods and up to Salmon Creek.
Then stayed right by that waterfall ‘til the sun was growing weak.
40 miles, just down the road, past coastal highway signs,
Until we warm our hearts and play some songs to pass the time!
Mary called us to the town, but soon her voice was lost.
We found ourselves back on her trail, but she doubled then in cost.
Those chilly winds came blowin’ in with Carmel to our backs.
Those dusty trails upon those hills is where we’ll make our tracks!
Back out on the road, my friend; southbound on the coast.
Traveling with my mandolin and the one I love the most.
And if those redwood trees come tumbling down on me,
I’ll pick myself up by my straps and get back on that road!
And if those redwood trees come tumbling down on me,
I’ll pick myself up by my straps and get back on that road!
Yes, if those redwood trees come tumbling down on me,
I’ll pick myself up by my straps and get back on that road!
“Heaven Looks Down”
Words and Music by Robert Pickett
I’m begging your pardon
I’m begging you, please
I’ve begged for forgiveness
Cause my time here is brief
(Chorus)
When heaven looks down on me,
when heaven looks down on me.
When heaven looks down, down on the ground,
when heaven looks down on me
I’m looking for something
That I cannot see
Dig up the dirt from my past
And the roots of my family tree
(Chorus)
Lately I’m paying my own reparations,
right now I’m cold as a stone
Lately I’m weighing my own calculations,
my own, yeah my own
Sometimes I wonder,
When they look down on me
I’ve hand picked the fruits of my labors
In the fields of eternity
(Chorus)
“Wake Again”
Words and Music by Dylan Kader
It’s getting early. I hear the birds singing outside my door.
The sun is rising; a sudden beauty that I can’t afford.
I lay my head down and find the time for me to take my rest.
I wake again to find that beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west!
The heat is building; frozen skies dosed with a touch of grey.
The ground is moving. There’s light behind us it’s a brand new day.
I try to feel it’s kindness. Once again I found it just won’t last.
I wake again to find that sun is setting down too fast.
That sun is setting down too fast.
That sun is setting down too fast!
Bridge:
I see the sunlight with watchful eyes but still it slips away.
Engulfed in darkness, my strongest thought is that darkness brings the brand new day.
That darkness brings the brand new day!
It’s getting early. I hear the birds singing outside my door.
The sun is rising; a sudden beauty that I can’t afford.
I lay my head down and find the time for me to take my rest.
I wake again to find that beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west.
That beauty settled down out west!
“Those Days”
Words and Music by Dylan Kader
I left those days behind me to find me again.
And I ain’t coming back; you sure closed that door for me, my friend.
You painted the sky and I could feel the rain.
What can I do with my life to keep from going insane?
But like all storms, this too will pass and the river will sing at last.
Yes we’ll hear her sing at last!
I’m on my way and you know it’s time I go now with the wind.
But my car won’t start and the noose won’t let me loose this time, my friend!
What we’ve left behind; all the joys and pain.
I found the tracks in the dead of night and hopped a northbound train!
Just passed through Hartford, now we’re moving fast and the river will sing at last.
Yes we’ll hear her sing at last!
I left those days behind me to find me again.
“One with Zero”
Words and Music by Robert Pickett
When you talk about connection
And that struggle for control
I won’t miss your misdirection
No, you can’t infect my soul
(Chorus)
Don’t make me one with zero
You can’t make me one with zip
Don’t make me one with zero
No my block, don’t need your chip
I don’t believe that I believe you
When all those lies begin to rust
That’s how people will perceive you
When all the pie goes to the upper crust
(Chorus)
And the goal, of my control
Just leave that up to me
I must confess, your GPS
is RFID
You might think I may be crazy
Like it’s on big conspiracy
Blur the lines of truth all hazy
When it’s just too plain to see
(Chorus)
“Dan The Outlaw”
Words and Music by Dylan Kader
Just south of Mesa Verde, on Colorado plains
there lived a man who found his life in rags and not in fame.
Danny was an outlaw living on the run.
He nearly made it to Durango, when he knew his time had come!
When Danny was a child, his brother passed away.
His friends wanted to show him love, but didn’t know what to say.
Young Danny found his comfort in the bottom of a glass;
he didn’t want to feel the pain no more and this numbed him oh so fast.
Then he found some more just like him and they drank away their fears.
Pretty soon they robbed a train and fled right out of here.
And as they hit that highway, they found what they had lost. But this freedom has a price to pay, and soon they’ll pay that cost.
Yes, soon they’ll pay that cost!
Now this band of newfound outlaws went back to Danny’s farm.
There they promised their young friend that his mom would see no harm.
But as Danny fed the horses, the law came rolling in
and bullets tore right through the house where his mother just had been!
Danny fired swiftly and downed the sheriffs son.
The sheriff then fell to his knees and threw off both his guns.
The other lawmen fired and Danny had to ride,
but that sheriff swore under his breath, “There’s no place you can hide!”
There’s no place you can hide!
Now the sheriff and his posse of 30 something men
came up quick behind him as he ran back to his den.
Danny grabbed his pistols and he put up quite a fight
but those boys were closing in; he wouldn’t make it through night.
He wouldn’t make it through the night!
“Show You the Way”
Words and Music by Harry Cooper
Walk with me let me show you the way.
Ya smile so brightly it lightens our day.
Memories we’ve had and the ones that we’ve made.
I’ll keep them with me until I’m in my grave.
Laser lights criss cross your world builds back up inside.
I shutter to think all the times you were wrong.
You sitting there so frikin high on your throne.
Send me a signal toss me a bone.
Keep actin’ like this gonna end up alone.
The laser lights criss cross your world builds back up inside.
But now that we’re here our whole lives have changed.
A beautiful glow on those things that were plain.
Nothing seems real.
Nothing seems strange.
Your light towards the future it drives me insane.
The laser lights criss cross your world builds back up inside.
Walk with me let me show you the way.
Ya smile so brightly it lightens our day.
Memories we’ve had and the ones that we’ve made.
I’ll keep them with me until I’m in my grave.
Laser lights criss cross your world builds back up inside.
Woahhhh let me show you the way.
Let me show you the-
Woahhh let me show you the way
