In memory of our friend Craig
As some of you may heard, our good friend and owner of our hometown bar in Naugatuck, The Eleven, passed away a few days ago.. He was a kind man and he was dead and creamery family. We all loved Craig and this one hurts for sure.
He was the first bar owner to give creamery a chance and let us grow as a band. That is why we always still play The Eleven and we will be forever grateful to him for it. One night a few friends and I went to see Scott Guberman playing at The Eleven randomly because DAMN how could I not have known about a dead bar so close to home?! And as I was looking at pictures and photos all over the wall Donna came up behind me and asked if I liked them and if I wanted to meet the person who took these incredible photos of the dead back in the day. I said hell yeah! And she brought me over to meet Craig. After a few minutes of babbling back and forth it came out that I was in a band trying to start up and would love to play there. He figured, “Ah what the hell, give this dirty hippie a chance.” Luckily he liked us ? because we then started playing there as much as we could, as some points even once a month, to sharpen our skills and build up a following.
This event is now going to be a Craig memorial show on November 3rd at The Eleven.. I always told Craig we will keep playing there until we can pack the place to the rafters for him and we would need to pull a stones and change the name just to keep the bar from being overrun haha. That we would give him the crowd he deserves there. I would really love to see everybody that is eleven and station nation family there for this one. Let’s please make it happen for him!
I am blown away by how much we’ve grown as a band thanks to this man and this bar. He truly supported us and helped give us he confidence to keep expanding on our own originals as well as some sweet covers. He constantly talked us up and told us how we were gonna be something soon and that he would be the first on the road in his VW bus with Donna following us once we get a big tour together. I’ll never forget how much love he showed us… May the four winds blow you safely home, brother Craig! ❤ NFA
